WHAT IS YOUTH VILLAGE SUMMER PROGRAM?
Our summer programs are for children ages 3 – 14. We have a preschool summer program and a school-age summer program. We have one K3 Summer Program for children entering VPK for the 2021-2022 school year. We have one K4 Summer Program for children entering kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Our school-age summer program are for children currently enrolled in school. All three summer programs are developmentally appropriate and to get the children prepared for next school year. Its purpose is to educate children in a fun way!
WHAT MAKES YOUTH VILLAGE SUMMER PROGRAM DIFFERENT?
We limit our enrollment so that every child is known to the staff and volunteers and has his/her own special place in our hearts! We are not a “big-box” program but a “family-oriented,” “feel-good-and-safe” after school program and summer program!
Youth Village is a non-profit organization where we care more about taking care of your child than being here to make money and it shows! When you entrust your child to us, we give them the same care and respect as we would our own children.
Youth Village has been a part of the community since 1999 and several of our original Youth Village students continue today as volunteers or staff members. We are truly a “family-oriented” after school program and summer program!
WHAT DO YOU DO AT YOUTH VILLAGE SUMMER PROGRAM?
Educational activities, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) activities. We also have special guests like police officers, chefs, playwrights, public speakers to come and speak to the children of Youth Village as well as do special activities with them.
***Because of COVID we may have to limit outside guests but we may have virtual activities.

We thank Wendy Rodrigue Magnus, widow of the late George Rodrigue, who became famous all over the world for his “Blue Dog” paintings and prints, for visiting us to talk to the children about the importance of art in their education. This presentation was made possible by a grant from the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation!
We were thrilled to have writer, director and actress Nancy Hasty come out for a 3-week workshop for the kids titled “When I Dream, I Dream in Color”, an original production written and directed by Ms. Hasty for our kids, culminating in an outstanding production at Youth Village. This presentation was made possible by a grant from the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation!
