WHAT EXCITING THINGS DO WE HAVE PLANNED THIS SUMMER?
Great news for our summer program girls going into grades 2-8 in the fall.
We’ve been awarded a grant from the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation to bring free theater workshops and free tennis lessons to the girls this summer!!
The twice-weekly theater workshops will take place at the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. Their instructor will be Ms. Darla Briganti Kain who is a Fine & Performing Arts Instructor at NWFSC. At the end of the summer all the girls will put on a performance at either the Sprint Theater or the Tyler Rehearsal Hall on stage for their family, friends and other community stakeholders. Their performance will be the only one that evening!!
The twice-weekly tennis lessons will take place at either the Ft. Walton Beach Tennis Center or the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center (with racquets furnished).
Note: the girls must be signed up at Youth Village for the entire summer to take part in these activities because full attendance is a MUST!
For more information please contact Nellie Bogar at: njbogar@yahoo.com to see if there are spots still available
WHAT MAKES YOUTH VILLAGE SUMMER PROGRAM DIFFERENT?
We limit our enrollment so that every child is known to the staff and volunteers and has his/her own special place in our hearts! We are not a “big-box” program but a “family-oriented,” “feel-good-and-safe” after school program and summer program!
Youth Village is a non-profit organization where we care more about taking care of your child than being here to make money and it shows! When you entrust your child to us, we give them the same care and respect as we would our own children.
Youth Village has been a part of the community since 1999 and several of our original Youth Village students continue today as volunteers or staff members. We are truly a “family-oriented” after school program and summer program!
WHAT DO YOU DO AT YOUTH VILLAGE SUMMER PROGRAM?
Educational activities, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) activities. We also have special guests like police officers, chefs, playwrights, public speakers to come and speak to the children of Youth Village as well as do special activities with them.
DO I NEED TO SEND FOOD WITH MY CHILD EVERYDAY TO YOUTH VILLAGE?
You will have to bring lunch with your child everyday, however, you will NOT have to bring a snack. We provide morning and afternoon snacks everyday. If your child is allergic or a picky eater, please bring a snack along with your child’s lunch.

PICTURES FROM OUR PREVIOUS SUMMER PROGRAMS

A Bed 4 Me Foundation partnered with us to come out and read book “Once Upon a Pancake” books to our students. What a perfect match…. bedtime and books! Once Upon a Pancake books have no written endings because each child uses their imagination to make up their own endings!

What a great learning experiences the students had on their Field Trip to the Air Force Armament Museum!

The Firefighters from the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department’s A Shift Engine 6 for came out to teach our students some of the things that firefighters do, which includes putting out fires, rescuing and caring for the sick and injured, working to prevent future fires, and investigating the sources of fires and so much more!

Youth Village had its very FIRST preschool FIELD TRIP! We took some of our littles ages 3-5 to the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park and they had a ball!

We thank all the folks at the Bernie R Lefebvre Aquatic Center for giving free swim lessons to our kids. Swimming comes with many health benefits, both physically and mentally and these kids were rocking it!
